Teens Against AIDS, a project of Strengthening The Black Family, Inc. is a community based peer education program designed to provide HIV/STI education to African American adolescents between 13-19 years of age within Wake County.
Teens Against AIDS will be holding the 2008 Be Aware Festival on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Wake County Commons Building located on 4011 Carya Drive in Raleigh, NC from 1:00pm-8:30pm. The purpose is to educate and give awareness to the youth in Wake County about the issues that they tend to face daily such as HIV/STDs, teen pregnancy, healthy relationships/friendships, decision-making, communication, and substance abuse. We will have educational workshops that will discuss the different issues, plus there will be a workshop for the parents on communicating with their teens on sex, drugs, and violence.
We will have fun, food, games, prizes, and great entertainment. So come on out and have fun with us at the 2008 Be Aware Festival on June 14, 2008 at the Wake County Commons Building on 4011 Carya Drive in Raleigh, NC from 1:00pm-8:30pm.
Strengthening The Black Family, Inc., Teens Against AIDS, Planned Parenthood, 4-H Youth Development Program, Get Real Get Test, Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina, Wake County Human Services, Communicable Disease Control Branch, and H.O.P.E Foundation will sponsor the Be Aware Festival.
